- Profile your application.
First determine your application type. For more information, refer to the U3
Application Types article. To then help you define the specifics of
your application, we provide three documents. The first is the
Integration
Factors Worksheet . The second is the Application
Deployment Guide, specifically the Migration
Analysis section. All of these documents are conveniently packaged in the
U3 Deployment Kit- UPDATED January 2007

- Scope your project.
Calculate the time and effort required to
create your U3 smart application, what certification requirements
you need to meet, and more, with the help of the following downloadable
resources. Use the U3 Knowledge Base and/or technical email support
if you have questions.
- Develop - Start typing.
Code (if necessary), then package and test in cycles
to complete your application. Use the Application
Deployment Guide in the U3 Deployment Kit- UPDATED January 2007,
the
U3 Knowledge Base, and the U3
Smart Application Certification Overview, Self-Test and Self-Test
Tools.
Get support when you need it.
Speed your development by using the
U3 Knowledge Base
and technical support team. The U3 Knowledge Base
provides technical support, advice, and changes to the official documentation
in the U3 SDK.If you don’t find what you need there, you can always
get an answer from technical support team via email.
Once you’re finished developing, it’s time for U3 Smart Application Certification.
We require it before you can use the U3 smart logo and list your application
on U3 Software Central
First, self-test your new application.
Use the U3
Smart Application Certification Overview, Self-Test and Self-Test
Tools document to perform the certification
test on your own application. Fix any issues that you find.
Submit your application for testing.
After you pass the self-certification with a perfect score, submit your application: Send an email to submission@u3.com with a link to the U3P file and the XML results from the Self-Test. We will then submit your application to our third-party testing house.
